MBE & QIF Summits April 2024
April 16-19, 2024 Chicago, IL: The MBE Summit and QIF Summit will be held at MxD in Chicago, IL. Anark will be there to support the Model Based Enterprise community as a sponsor. This annual assembly of industry experts has it's roots in The DoD Engineering, Drawing, and Modeling Working Group (DEDMWG) that initiated the development of MIL-STD-31000B. Anark continues to support all of these efforts closely with our 3Di Technical Data Package (TDP) capabilities.
The goals of DEDMWG were as follows:
- Determine methods to encourage DOD acquisition managers to require an adequate TDP
- Modifying the definition of an adequate TDP to anticipate and/or encourage the use of 3D product models in TDP packages.
DOD Organic Industrial Base Modernization
OSD MANTECH recently executed an Organic Industrial Base (OIB) Modernization Challenge where Anark, along with MxD, was selected to provide "A Closed-loop Technical Data Exchange that Meets the OIB Where They Work". This takes many of the early DEDMWG concepts, enables MBD best practices along with MIL-STD-31000B and expands further into newer technologies for packaging, hosting and collaboration with Technical Data going beyond 3D PDF documents.
The goal is to address a typical scenario where prime contractors, program offices and engineering organizations can utilize modern standards that include 3D MBD CAD, PLM BOM and configuration data, plus other types of sophisticated digital product data. As has been the case for decades, the OIB operates with significant site-to-site limitations in computer equipment, network infrastructure, and knowledge-worker skillsets needed to utilize the modern data being acquired. This “last mile” challenge leaves a significant data-access-and-collaboration gap that existing solutions cannot cover.
The Anark project is planned to deliver an industry leading showcase of what’s possible with closed-loop technical data collaboration for manufacturers and their suppliers. Both defense and commercial manufacturers struggle with sharing data across the PLM collaboration gap. This project will close that gap and provide frictionless data sharing synchronized with authoritative source systems. The OIB will see a path forward for improving technical data access and collaboration, for an immediate and lasting operational advantage.
Meet Anark at the MBE Summit & QIF Summit
Anark Director of Customer Engagement Jim Martin will be in attendance talking to partners and customers about the value that we provide in the MBE community so feel free to reach out and let us know you will be there or look out for Jim to talk about past and future initiatives Anark has that could be of interest. About the event:
The MBE Summit has brought academia, government, and industry experts together for 10+ years to share the challenges, implementation issues, and lessons learned in design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sustainment of products and processes where a Model-Based approach is used. This includes all aspects of the product lifecycle from design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sustainment of products, where a digital 3D model acts as the authoritative source of information.
