Anark 4.6.0 Release Announcement - February 21, 2025

February 21, 2025- Publishing, sharing, and collaborating on the highest quality engineering product data is complex business. Our Engineering team has put in the work to improve product quality, enhance flexibility for IT admins, and expand features for end users. Our latest release includes enhancement requests from customers like you, planned product features that improve the value of our products, and product changes that open new use cases to our customers.

Anark Release 4.6.0 includes the following enhancements, new features, and bug fixes. Additional information can be found in the product documentation included with the release and please also look at the Anark Software Release Download Page. Note the next release will be 4.6.1.

The main reason behind the new release numbering scheme is to support a major.minor.patch scheme that follows SEMANTIC VERSIONING. For more information, read https://semver.org/ . Essentially, the new numbering scheme means:

1. MAJOR version - when we make incompatible/breaking changes or offer significant new functionality. For example, a new and improved API, a new database schema, etc. These changes should be reviewed thoroughly before upgrading.

2. MINOR version - when we add new functionality in a backward compatible manner. The majority of Anark’s changes to Publish and Workstation will be MINOR or PATCH.

3. PATCH version - when we make backward compatible bug fixes.

We will endeavor to maintain backward compatibility as often as possible to reduce the impact on you, our customers. However, if the potential benefit significantly outweighs the impact, we may elect to make those tradeoffs and will communicate those changes in advance.

Customers who are experiencing problems should strongly consider taking PATCH releases. Customers who want to evaluate new functionality should consider MINOR releases. Please contact Anark Support if you have any questions about this or the content of any release.

Anark Publish Upgrades

When upgrading Anark Publish to versions 4.5.85 and later from 4.5.83 or older, you must uninstall the old version before upgrading to new versions.

Example: If you are on 4.5.80, and will upgrade to this latest release of 4.6.0, you must uninstall 4.5.80 and then install 4.6.0.

• No significant feature updates for this release.

• Fixed how Viewer roles consume licenses. (10679).
• Fixed an issue on the activity/feed page when applying markups. (11247).

Anark Workstation and Anark Publish 

• Added options to eliminate hemispherical edges/lines in 3D PDF. (8042).
• Fixed a problem with Workstation when importing certain STEP files. (10456).
• Fixed an issue with handling of quilt surface edges. (10657).
• Corrected a problem with units of measure when publishing to Collaborate. (11615).

CAD Integrations and Publishing 

• Fixed an issue with font handling when importing CATIA models. (11504, 11510).
• Fixed an issue with component visibility when importing CATIA models. (11606).
• Fixed an issue with datum plane size not generating properly from Creo. (10561).

PLM Integrations and Publishing

• Teamcenter - Email Support for 3D PDF Publishing: The latest update includes support for SMTP email functionality within the 3D PDF Publishing process. This allows for automated email notifications upon successful or failed publishing, streamlining the publishing workflow for users and administrators.
• Teamcenter - A robust error-handling mechanism has been added to the Dispatcher Module responsible for sharing mail. This enhancement ensures that any issues encountered during module processing are handled gracefully.
• Teamcenter – Added support for publishing data to 3D PDF and Anark Collaborate from Active Workspace Client (AWC)
• Windchill - Added configurable options that allow the customer to choose between
  BASE64 encoding or certificate-based encryption.

Siemens Teamcenter Support Notice

Release 4.6.0 now supports the Teamcenter versions below:

• 13.1
• 14
• 2312
• 2406

Support for Teamcenter 2412 is planned for the next release, 4.6.1.

Please note that support for Teamcenter 13.1 is deprecated and will be removed from release 4.6.2.

Siemens NX Support Notice

Anark has added support for NX2412.

PTC Windchill Support Notice

Release 4.6.0 now supports the Windchill versions below:

• 12.0.2.1
• 13.0.0

Starting from the next release, 4.6.1, support will be added for the following windchill versions:

• 12.1.2.0
• 13.1.0.0
• 13.0.2.0

PTC Creo Support Notice

Correction: In the previous release version 4.5.90 (and this release 4.6.0), support has been added for Creo 11. Formal support for Creo Version 7 has been removed. The oldest formally supported version of Creo is 8.
